REGENERATIVE THERAPIES: IRAP - Interleukin Receptor Antagonist Protein. It is an extremely strong antinflammatory derived through an incubation, centrifugation, and filtering process from the horses own blood. It also concentrates plentiful growth factors and other components utilized in the healing and reconstructive process in the body. This is the Cadillac of therapies for inflamed and damaged joints, and has increasing application in soft tissue as well. See the link for more information on how IRAP works...
PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma is also derived through centrifugation and filtration from the horses own blood. It is applicable mainly to tendon and ligament injuries, and has very close to the regenerative capabilities in soft tissue injury as stem cells do for substantially less cost.
STEM CELLS - Stem cells have been in the media a great deal in the last few years, and their potential for application in medicine is very broad. Though expensive, they are well proven to aid healing. Bone marrow is harvested from the horses' sternum through a wide needle, and sent off to a laboratory. In a few days a bone marrow concentrate rich in stem cells is sent back, and over the next month the lab will culture up a large batch of stem cells from the original sample which are later injected. You can also have a portion of the cells 'banked' indefinitely for later use in case of injury. OTHER SPECIES - If you have other animals besides horses that need treatment, please contact us - I have experience with a wide range of species (see photos) and am more than happy to help out if I can! While my specialty is horses, I keep in stock equipment to see farm animals, small animals, and exotics.
